As it has already been communicated, Zambia Association of Manufacturers will be hosting the 2014 Manufacturer’s Week under the theme “Celebrating 50 years of Manufacturing Progress and Setting the stage for Accelerated Industrialization and Economic Transformation through Local Content”scheduled to take place from 12th October to 17th October 2014.The week is aimed at promoting and celebrating the manufacturing sector’s growing and contribution to Zambia’s socio-economic development.
One of the major activities of the week is the “Manufacturers’ Give-back” charity event. This event will take place on Tuesday, 14th October, 2014. The objective of the event is to give back to the community as a way of appreciating the communities’ contribution to the successes being scored by firms in the local manufacturing sector, thus stimulating support for buying locally manufactured products. It is also aimed at motivating manufacturers to put in place and expand corporate social responsibility policies and programmes as a means of giving back to the community and helping the vulnerable in society.
Zambia Association of Manufacturers identifies charitable communities where it donates various products donated by its members in form of monetary or material. Last year’s event was a great success and highly appreciated by the community and the government and was officiated by the Republican Second Lady Dr. Charlotte Scott and attended by many captains from the industry.
Therefore ZAM is glad to invite your firm or you as an individual reading this message to contribute towards making this event a great achievement by contributing through the Secretariat some of your products for onward donation to identified needy groups or organisations helping or taking care of the vulnerable and the needy in society.
With your involvement, we are confident that this year’s event will even be bigger and more fruitful. We look forward to working with you in making a difference in the lives of the vulnerable and the needy in society.
Once again we take this opportunity to say thank you for your continued support rendered to the Secretariat and we look forward to more collaboration.
